Dragon Sanctuary: Waystones and raid preparation

Dragon Sanctuary is a PvE raid for up to twenty players. Entry uses a Waystone rather than an Ancient Lands portal, and the raid does not apply the Ancient Lands item-power cap.

Dragon Sanctuary: Waystones and raid preparation

Obtain and use a Waystone

Waystone fragments can be combined at an Artifact Foundry. Waystones and their components also come through the Dragonfire reward loop, including Drake and Dragon encounters, and can be traded where the item allows it.

Choose the tier and enchantment before assembling the group. The Waystone must be used in a matching world-tier context. Open its item recipe to see the actual materials rather than assuming that every enchanted Waystone uses the same combination.

Plan the raid, not a capped arena build

The group size is up to twenty and the raid has no item-power cap. A comparison made for Orange Ancient Lands is therefore the wrong equipment calculation. Compare upgrades by their raw item power on each item’s page, because nothing is capped there.

Maeve precedes Azaryon. The raid bosses are immune to forced movement, so do not build your encounter plan around pulling or knocking them into position. The sources do not establish a complete timed rotation for every attack; no fixed attack schedule is assumed here.

Account for Patch 1 mechanics

Azaryon’s Inferno now ramps to higher damage later in the cast. Rocks provide the encounter’s intended shelter; being comfortable at the beginning of the cast does not make staying exposed safe. Maeve’s Boulders no longer dash during Primal Dragon Flame. Her Rock Spike stack indicator also clears when the effect ends; that correction was visual.

Defeating Azaryon gives each raid member Lingering Dragon Spirit, a stacking effect that makes repeat Sanctuary clears harder. It is not an entry lockout. Patch 1 shortened its original seven-day duration by approximately two hours; check the remaining effect before planning another clear.

Separate possible rewards from guarantees

A Firewing Drake Egg is a rare reward, not a promised result from each clear. The published material used for this guide does not provide a reliable per-clear egg drop rate. Calculate a raid budget without treating an egg as guaranteed income.

Follow the Firewing raising guide for the next steps after receiving an egg. Waystone prices and gear costs can be compared in Market prices.
