Dragonfire Patch 1: entry windows and island objectives
Dragonfire Patch 1 was released on September 8. Its entry and objective changes supersede the launch rules from August 31; the clearest difference is that island clearing now counts defeated mobs, not fame.
More time to enter
Small Ancient Lands now allow eight minutes for entry, up from three. Medium and large entry windows are five minutes. The small-run lock was reduced to 15 minutes.
The large Ancient Lands area’s maximum lifetime increased from 45 to 60 minutes. The entry window remains a separate five-minute timer. Portals are now visible on the world map regardless of distance.
Island clearing counts mobs
The island quest now asks for 50% of the mobs to be defeated. Marmots are excluded. Fame bonuses therefore do not shorten this particular objective.
Standard mob health in large Ancient Lands was reduced by 50%, while Drake health was unchanged by that adjustment. Reaching the Drake sooner does not mean the Drake itself received the same health reduction.
Sanctuary and revival fixes
Azaryon’s Inferno ramps to greater damage later in its cast. Maeve’s Boulders no longer dash during Primal Dragon Flame, and her Rock Spike stack indicator clears correctly. Lingering Dragon Spirit lasts approximately two hours less than before. It makes repeat clears harder rather than preventing entry.
Ancient Altar blessings now survive knockdown and death. The patch also fixed a damage-over-time defeat making a player invulnerable instead of starting bleedout.
Loot and combat corrections
An excessive mob-silver issue was corrected; chest loot was not changed by that correction. Do not turn that fix into a claim that all Dragonfire chests were nerfed.
Oathkeepers’ healing value changed from the launch value of 66 to 50. The patch also addressed Journal mammoth credit and several encounter/respawn issues. The linked official patch is the source for individual fixes; the related guides apply its changed rules rather than repeating launch-day values.
